Dharimai Reha

Yellow Fin Tuna Curry

Preparation: 10-40 minutes
Servings: 3-5

Ingredient:

 

  • 300 g Farumas (or yellow fin tuna), Cut into garudhiya size

  • 1 Bashi purple colour. Diced and soaked in a dilute salt solution (salt water)

  • 4 tomatoes 
  • 2 large onion diced (8pcs per onion)
  • 3 garlic finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons dhal
  • 2 Tholhi mirus
  • Small piece ginger finely chopped
  • 4 sprigs curry leaves 
  • 1 table spoon turmeric powder
  • 4 tablespoons mild curry powder
  • 3 tablespoons Soya sauce
  • Salt to taste 
  • Ground pepper
  • Lime
  • 1 cup kiru (kaashi or geri)
  • 100ml plain yoghurt 
  • A pinch of sugar 
  • 3 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 4 Tablespoon vegetable oil

Method

  1. Marinate fish with a bit of salt , pepper, lime and Soya sauce (about 20 minutes)

  2. Lightly fry onions, garlic, dhal, mirus, ginger and curry leaves till fragrant.

  3. Add in curry powder and turmeric powder and fry for a few minutes.

  4. Add yoghurt and kiru.

  5. Add bashi, fish and tomatoes, simmer until soft and tender. 

  6. Add tomato paste and the sugar pinch

Serves: 3-5 people (goes best with Rice or Folhi).

  • This an ideal dish for Lhadhari Main because of its sweat-sour taste.
  • If you are concerned with cholesterol instead of kaashi kiru use another 100 ml yoghurt
